@beaucurtis @randfish @ciaranj yes if you can achieve the objective. We club everything into one bucket and assess similarly. Deciding which dress to wear doesn't need same decision making skills as deciding to launch a rocket. Some jobs need credentials; not all.

Send newsletter at the same day / time. Your subscribers should know when they will get an email from you. There should be predictability for your subscribers.

How to grow the newsletter? If you have coffee with someone, talk to them about your newsletter and ask if you can add them to your newsletter (at least in the begining)

How often should you send newsletter? Everyday? Once a week? Twice a month? Density of value in your emails determines the frequency. If you can offer value everyday, send everyday. (Think of @jonathanstark; he sends daily)

Think of newsletter as a stadium. A stadium has many entrances. Your newsletter should also have many entrances. - Homepage - Subscribe Forms in every post - Middle of popular posts - Subscribe links in your newsletter But @fortelabs doesn't have pop-up forms.

Innovate Startups have this "bundling & unbundling". You can use that as a writer. Whenever you read a great article, unbundle it into different article on your own; Same way, assemble an article from different sources.

Network Use whatever you've writen to build relations with others. Share what you've written to seek feedback; write about tips you learned from others; And as you build your network, you'll get more opportunities to learn, write and repeat the virtous cycle.

We get carried by the visible. They are easy to debate, discuss, and dissect. - fonts and colors on your website instead of content - camera, lenses instead of principles of photography - Jira (or Basecamp) instead of training in project mgmt All are pretentious veneer

@tyfgibson Thanks for making this point @tyfgibson. Paul and Peter didn't start a ministry in their own names. They started and nourished local churches and leaders. It is time, we go back to roots and build from there.
