@ashwinmahesh Thanks for writing this thread and the blogpost.
@ashwinmahesh A college mate passed away and we are all trying to help the family in whatever way possible. I am helping the kid (in 12th std) cope with the sorrow & continue studies. I call him every week. Guess what @ashwinmahesh? His name is Neil. This whole thread meant a lot to me.
@Abhishek_Rai @shackmediaco why dont you write a book? More people need to hear such stories. Indian businessmen have lot of local models to look upto, but there are not much literature
@jmj I have been focusing on WINS - wealth, insights, network, self-control. In addition, I have borrowed generously from @praveensinghv , @shl , @RulesByCam and made it into a blog post: I'm going to blog about these in next 12 months.
@jlengstorf Good luck @jlengstorf
@iamlaxmanK @BentleyGTCSpeed @dsgntmrrw @JoelMarion01 @traviscchappell 5. Elevation with @stevenfurtick : Want to be inspired to realize your full potential? Get inspired with weekly sermons from Pastor Steven. Amazing content. Love it.
@iamlaxmanK @BentleyGTCSpeed @dsgntmrrw @JoelMarion01 @traviscchappell 5. Modern CTO podcast by @moderncto_io (). Joel manages to bring top CTOs (from fortune 500 companies) to discuss their challenges, how they became CTOs, and how they build their teams.
@iamlaxmanK @BentleyGTCSpeed @dsgntmrrw 4. Born to impact with @joelmarion01 Listen to the first 2 episodes; and the Networking masterclass with @traviscchappell. All three are amazing episodes
@iamlaxmanK @BentleyGTCSpeed 3. Design Tomorrow () by @dsgntmrrw A podcast about design, technology, and being human. What we do and think today can create a better tomorrow
@iamlaxmanK 2. The uncomfortable truth by Alan Weiss (@BentleyGTCSpeed) Nobody talks the truth. Everyone lays layers and layers of words just to be politically correct. Not Alan. 5 min episodes telling you the uncomfortable truth in almost all aspects of life.
@iamlaxmanK My favorite podcasts: 1. Akimbo, podcast by Seth Godin : He makes you think and challenge yourself in every podcast. Even though I know most of what Seth says, I am still challenged in every podcast
@akashlomas 1. My act is hacked 2. Only then ppl notice 3. It was a mistake You can pick and believe whatever you like 😉
@Memeghnad Algorithms to live by: The Computer Science of Human Decisions
@psankar shush....they might say it is only because it is named after Rajiv. You never know 🤦♀️😉
@sukhmeetsingh @munishjauhar @Startup_Punjab I have a doubt, he sometimes sends his stunt doubles :-)
@manicode Jim, while you are in Nepal, try to get a visa to India and visit Hampi and Madurai. You’ll love it. BTW, they are in south India.
@kmukund7 @sastrytumuluri We miss role-models and mentors. We should think of brining back “gurukuls” for the digital world.
@praveensinghv isn't serving #1? Or are you thinking of something else?
@Memeghnad instead of taking a red bag, if they would have taken a red suitcase, may be they could have avoided this flip-flop. In Tamil we say, full vessel is calm (நிறை குடம் தழும்பாது). Something like "empty vessels make most noise". Seems true here.
@madversity isn't it only for the foreign investors gone?
@devduttmyth You are better than this Devdutt ji. Read the last para. Other casts didn’t pose trouble to Dalits; it was the administration. It is not a caste problem; it is an administration problem
@saikatd No. He wrote an article saying “he New India likes the ‘discuss less, do more’ approach to running the country. “ Just that, doing more without knowing what they are doing leads to massive losses.
@nextbigwhat @cnha aren't these old stats? The forum links to an article which links to another article which doesnt quote any source.
@dmuthuk not from economics or investing background. But interested in "structural reforms" what are these reforms? Any tips or links to know more?
@hnshah vim. Nothing beats it for writing. You can write at the flow of thoughts
@BrentBeshore @Alex_Danco @david_perell I have read both Alex's & David's piece. If I may raise a doubt: In his piece, David talks about time being linear in Christian view. How abt Gen 3:19 - you came from dust & will rtn to dust. That doesn't sound linear.
@sastrytumuluri If I would write about "why" I believe I would write something like this: Life isn’t about having the “correct’ beliefs. It’s about having the most useful ones.
@hnshah shouldn't startups charge somewhere in between these steps?
@naval Thiel sees Facebook as a place to contain unbounded Mimetic violence. It simultaneously perpetuates violence and prevents it t from happening. After all, if people fight on social media, they won’t fight on the streets.
@Abhishek_Rai it sounds good, buy how? google tried to build their own platform, but it failed.
@dmuthuk wealth is discretionary time. I want to be wealthy not rich
@vijayanands How to prepare kids if you are not from one of those "communities"?
@jaythaker good luck to her and the baby.
@codelust true. There is Kangra fort near dharamshala which was not mentioned in any tourist guide. We stopped there because our driver insisted. It is an amazing fort with 500 yrs of history. Their kings trace their origins to Mahabharata. For such a fort, it remain in rot
@codelust you may like to hear this: This is the best analysis of the horror of this past weekend in the United States
@psankar even in first session they royally screwed economy, but ppl couldn't see an alternative. So even they continue the same path they are in power for at least 20 years
@achakrava at least one person (me) is interested in your research Ananya. I am eagerly looking forward to read what you have to say (of course it has to be dumb down to common man’s language)
@codelust I didn’t see in any news. Can you please point to any announcement? This is brutal
@pranesh Pranesh, you should write a post clearing up many of these fake-news. You would be doing a great service for those who want to really know the history
@KyleTibbitts spot on Kyle. It will also be in an area that we have not thought of so far. Could be a mix of business + religious principles. For ex, read this long but fantastic piece on Theil’s religion:
@david_perell @wingod For someone who studied Christianity only for last 6 months, you have a fine understanding of it. Better than most church going Christians, probably because of deep thought. Kudos.
@chattychd what about those appearing for UPSC?
