@VineetSinha What worked for me: • Find people who like • Emulate them • Share your wok with your network and ask feedback (is it boring, confusing, what you liked...) • Correct, Keep writing, and ask feedback Over a period you develop your own voice and style

@mjwhansen Your defn of empathy (though it was from Brene Brown) and not mixing feelings into it. Let others introduce ideas to you. Both points resonated with me as I am experiencing both as I build my course @GravitasWins Will tweet a longer version later.

@UtprabhM Congrats. What did you do to achieve 1000 subs? I have been steaming on my channel for over a year. Still stuck at 100+ subs

Somehow when we get into office, we leave the skills that make us human. We have been telling stories ever since...we were cave men. Why should we leave that part of us? Especially if they are useful?

When Rishabh also mentioned, I was motivated to try a digital method. I tracked everyday using @WorkFlowy Not everyday is productive or I could see outcome of efforts. But it was good to keep a memory bank. Going to try this for 3 months and then see if I shud continue

@SejalSud If you mean, if this is from Atomic Habits book: I don't think so, since this is what I've been practicing. Also, I've a different view of habits > goals viewpoint. Without goals, habits are useless

In a noisy world, structured communication gives you edge. Learn to communicate in a structured manner and you'll have life of WINS.

In Pyramid communication, • You state the key point first • Then logical sub-points • Support each sub-point with arguments and data You think bottom-up (data -> key point) You communicate top-down (key point -> supporting data)

There is structure in every communication: • official notes • comedies • story telling ... They are all documented and available. One structure in official communication: Pyramid Communication

Joseph Jude

So how to communicate structurally? Say what is needed. Filter out everything else. This requires "work" • You need to know the audience • What they need to know • How much they need to know If you do the work, you'll stand out in any conversation.

Why you should communicate in a structured manner? • We live in a noisy environment • We are clouded by our biases • We absorb information sequentially • We can retain only 7 ± 2 information • We say everything we know

Start with the important point: > I took over a legacy application and re-architected it to modern code-base within budget and schedule. This answer will beget the question; > Wow, how did you do it You can branch out from there keeping the interview engaging.

Example of an actual interview session. I usually ask this question: What was your achievement in the current project? Most often people will answer in chronological order and tell me unimportant things. How can you improve this?

The lazier you are, your audience have to work that much harder to understand what you say. The harder you work, the easier it is going to be for your audience. Executives prefer to work with people who let them do their work rather than babysit you.

When you communicate in a structured manner, your listener (manager, peer, team mate) can take what you said, and do the awesome work they have to do. When you throw pile of sentences at them, they've to work harder to decipher what you said.

@digitaltrouble Shouldn’t we ask about exit process too? Way too many companies make it impossible to quit their services. Customers who exit come back. They tell other ppl of the simplified exit. It is also a form of word of mouth. Do you agree?

@AshleeMBoyer @venikunche When I was a junior Dev, my Mgr allowed me to deploy. I forgot to comment “drop table …” I was sweating even in cold March night. He later told me it was test and env so it is ok. Taught me to use chklists which I still do for many things in life.

@NehaKPuri_ We think of future as a single point & that is why we fail many time abt future planning. Instead think of multiple future scenarios and plan for it. Even when none of those scenarios come true you are well prepared to grab the opportunities. Read more:

@_Harinivas_ superb @_Harinivas_ @jordanbpeterson says: What I have done is never wasted. • Done = put my heart and soul into it • wasted = no useful outcome • => when you put your heart & soul into something, even if it is a failure in the short term, your learning is useful in life.
