@jalajboy Original defn of secularism: state equidistant from all religions Indian defn of secularism: equal engagement of all religions (which of course gets complicated in practice)

@Abhishek_Rai I'm ok if they are formatted for emails and edited tightly. They are just a long, unending word-stream. Gone back to RSS reading; subscribe to newsletters that are different and deliver only emails

Have you ever seen cats? They see a string. And they start pulling on the string. Then the whole sweater is unraveling. That’s the way to learn. Start pulling strings that interest you.

Whenever you ask a question, try to ask it with the word, “what” at the front of it, instead of “why”

if you want to do something interesting and big and different, and you want to change something, you don’t want to be living your life, objective focused, minimizing errors

Most of AI is about heading towards an objective, trying to minimize errors towards that objective. But as @kenneth0stanley explains, keep an open-mind and try novel (interesting, new) things.

The beginner’s mind leads you to one core thing. But it’s the years of experience that help you define what that core thing is

We learn peer pressure initially from our parents and then from school. Don’t let peer pressure, guilt, and shame weigh on you and drain your energy

@MikeIsaac @jackerhack Zuck is only following what politicians (like Trump & Modi) have been doing - bypass mainstream media and allow interview with sites friendly to them. In any case, mainstream media will pick up the news and propagate. Huge win for them. Hyperlinks subvert authority.

@rezzz In his book, @kenblanchard says, we usually swing between pride and fear. Instead we should balance between humility and confidence. I find that balance hard, but when I do, amazing things happen.

He repeated two words often in the 40 min conversation - logic and luck. It is intriguing how he is able to merge these two. Who are the leaders he looks up to? Don't google for leaders. Look around you. There are inspiring people around you and learn from them.

@jalajboy After watching the plight of S. Khan and family, can you blame them? We brought this upon ourselves.

@gokulr Don’t know if you have read “Pyramid Principle” by B. Minto. She explains this in detail there for different types of documents.

@raunak246 @SejalSud @Paytm @zomato Without revenue company will not survive. Check their investment vs revenue. It is just a hope some idiot will come and buy the stock for more and I won't be an idiot holding left overs. Unless they turn around to revenue making, it is not a good stock.

@DanAlessandro3 @ejames_c I can understand abt Gladwell as he is not a practitioner. But I am surprised you would club Housel with Gladwell. Would you please share what “horribly fallacious arguments” in his book?

@RobbieCrab As a podcast host, does summarising ok for the listeners? I have not seen much of summarising in talk shows. Is that how they are structured?

@navilan Please continue to share your experience with Github Codespaces. I am also considering switching to web-apps completely. Network issues are the only reason I am still sticking with desktop apps. Sometimes @airtelindia network goes off for more than 40 hours in my area.

@krecicki @arvidkahl I've faced this problem as I built @GravitasWins coaching. Initially I shared only on Twitter. Didn't find any traction. Thought there is no need for the program. Then started sharing in LinkedIn and got enough members for 9 cohorts & a community. Guess platform matters too
