Innovate Startups have this "bundling & unbundling". You can use that as a writer. Whenever you read a great article, unbundle it into different article on your own; Same way, assemble an article from different sources.
Learn Every writer is a learner. Be willing to learn from wide variety of sources. I have been using consume-produce-engage model to learn everything I want to learn. You can learn more here:
We already write emails, slack messages, basecamp threads. In remote working, it is only going to increase. Here is a simple formula to make you a writing LION. LION is an acronym. It stands for: Learning Innovate Outwork Network
@ilyabelikin @Clubhouse @Twitter What do you like in CH Ilya? For me discovery, sound quality, ability to create rooms etc are amazing. May be twitter will get there. But as of now CH is way way better.
@jackerhack if I tell you something, wouldn't I be one of them ;-)
@deepakshenoy This is true even within India. Many of the "immigrants" to city do well because there is hunger to prove them; more opportunities; etc. True of folks moving from north to south; or south to north etc.
@keepkwizing Did you convert to pdf ;-)
High prices is not the reason why we are all not living in beach-front houses and driving fancy sports car. It is because demand exceeds supply. There are not nearly enough beach-front houses & fancy sports cars. Prices convey the underlying reality
Prices determine the allocation of resources and how the resulting products are distributed to millions of people.
Price coordinated markets > centrally planned markets This is the essence of Part I of the book - Prices & Markets.
Ch 2: Role of Prices The wonder of markets is that they reconcile the choices of myriad individuals - William Easterly #quotes #economics #markets
Life doesn't ask us what we want. It presents us with options. Economics is one of the ways of trying to make the most of those options.
Economic decisions are not only abt money. When a military medical team arrive on a battlefield where soldiers have variety of wounds, they hv to make an economic decision of allocating scarce resources (medicines, nurses, docs) which have alternate uses. (Same in Covid)
Tweeting as I read books. Later they will appear on my blog:
Availability of resources doesn't determine wealth of a nation. But how the resources (land, capital, natural) are allocated to produce the volume of goods & services.
Economics is the study of the use of scarce resources which have alternate uses - Lionel Robbins Regardless of policies, there is simply not enough to go around to satisfy all our desires to the fullest. Means, capitalism, socialism etc are diff ways of making trade-offs.
Here is what I wrote about documenting on my decisions:
@Bazzaruto Email
@SejalSud He wrote the book that tech companies used to get us hooked. Now he is telling us, oh you are all hooked. He is making money writing on both sides of the argument. Smart fellow.
@mcrittenden Just want to let you know, I read your daily posts and thank you for writing them. Spl about this particular one, I resonate with many you mentioned but mostly abt "How easily our lives could have gone differently"
@SejalSud @jasuja @monikahalan How should older people withdraw from their investment portfolio? Use laddering technique. Withdraw funds needed for next 5 years and put them in stable instruments like FD/Govt bonds. Thanks @monikahalan for the answer. Thanks @sejalsud & @jasuja for hosting this space
@nbalajiv Aren’t these more of digital currencies than crypto?
@Fractitious1 Isn't happiness byproduct of 1 & 2?
@divanshuarora Thanks. I don't see the spaces button in the middle on my iphone app. Is possible that it is visible only to select people - who attend spaces / who host spaces etc?
@ANayyar16 Yea. That seems be the only way. @Clubhouse is better in discovering interesting rooms than @TwitterSpaces
@SimonHoiberg @FeedHive_io How about existing annual subscribers who want to extend? Can they use this deal?
@mijustin What all you do in the cool down period? What do you assess and how?
@aurasky_ We need to learn to work within the structures we create for ourselves and know when to explore beyond that. Otherwise we become slaves to our structures
@ChaddaCherry Thanks Chadda. Was talking to @ranjithajeurkar. She said, compassion isn't complete until it includes you.
@divanshuarora Can you recommend some of the series/movies/books re-read/re-watched?
@SejalSud Courage is the master of the virtues, because it makes the practice of all others possible. We call Achilles brave not because we think he will win, but because we know he is going to die. I read this by @simonsarris . You might like it
@ANayyar16 How does it work Arun? And what it is?
@ChaddaCherry How are you practicing this Cherry?
Time to pay it forward: If you need advice on any of the below topics, DM me. will share a link to book a slot with me. • tech stack for your startup • building a career in software industry • outsourcing • building a personal brand • blogging • starting & growing podcast
@SejalSud @GravitasWins Thank you Sejal
@keepkwizing Have you read 7 day weekend by @ricardosemler? As you know, I enjoy days so much there is not clear line between weekday and weekend ;-)
@tnvora Can humility be taught? If so, how? ☝️is the question I ponder now.
@MeetshahV Compounding is a very difficult concept to grasp for most of us since takes ages to show up.
@prla Generally (at least in Indian context), devs have not been mgmt; most mgrs have been devs. So it is upto mgrs to show empathy to devs. It is not possible for devs to understand point of view of mgmt. But I'm also surprised how little empathy mgrs show to devs.
@jackerhack I read it as “controlling population” and I was like 😱
@Kamphey Trust is a hard thing to build and easy to ruin. There is only a certain ceiling to which you can raise prices without concomitant increase in value. If you say, hey I added 10 more hours of video and hence price is double, but you get it at a 50% discount, yes I trust you.
@prla @singhtechnical @morganhousel It is Paulo. We are reviewing two chapters every Saturday. The discussions are helping us to understand these chapters in detail.
If you are an executive / founder, you will also learn how he dedicates 2 hours daily to think about growing his business.
Two phrases I will repeat to myself: • Be true to yourself • Be fast so you can be fortunate When you listen to the podcast you'll know how he practices it.
@Airtel_Presence There is no point in being social media smart. Check the DM of this account. It is all there. Plus I was told that there will be adjustment for the downtime. Both times bill was not adjusted. Come back here when you send me the adjusted bill. Then we can talk.
@DILIPtheCHERIAN @sruthijith @khanumarfa @ArunSudhaman Plus, India's broadband is not stable & reliable. Ex: I have high bandwidth Airtel fiber in Panchkula. But this year twice it went off for 50 hours (yes 50). Even when it is operational, it will go off for few seconds every hour. How can we have regular ops with such infra?
@DILIPtheCHERIAN @sruthijith @khanumarfa @ArunSudhaman Dilip: Most of Indian IT companies are not product companies but service companies. Service companies have to operate acc to their client's demands. When clients demand data theft protection, you can't do that remotely (at least fully as in on-prem)
