@Clubhouse Success could be because of: • Character • Personality Most recent literature focus on personality rather than character. Personality itself falls into: • Public relation techniques • Positive mental attitude

@Clubhouse Here is summary of 1st chapter - Inside Out Inside-out means to start first with self Start with the most inside part of self—with your paradigms, your character, and your motives Rather than thinking problem is out there.

Tomorrow (5th Feb), Gagan will present the first chapter of the book between 7 - 8 pm (IST). Gagan is a fantastic speaker. He knows how to hold the attention of the audience even in the virtual world. Come and join us. It is free.

I read this book often to refresh myself of the concepts and not to be carried away by all the noise in the self-improvement field. This year, prompted by my good friend @orangeturban, I am reading it again. In fact, we are reading it collectively and discussing it publicly.

@orangeturban Thank you Gagan. One of my podcast guest told me, he listens to these podcast at regular frequency. When I visited @singhtechnical 's office, he was listening to @GravitasWins youtube channel. Since these two, I've started doing the same ;-)

@SahilBloom @RomeenSheth @RafaelNadal Same goes for Goran Ivanišević too. Unbelievable that he came in as a wild card entry and went with the cup enduring three days of rain in semis. That was an amazing series of matches too

@Hates_ Same thing happens with me on movies too. After browsing for a while on netflix / primevideo, the time blocked for watching a movie runs out and I leave without watching anything Now I know I'm not the only crazy guy ;-)

Somehow when we get into office, we leave the skills that make us human. We have been telling stories ever since...we were cave men. Why should we leave that part of us? Especially if they are useful?

@romanedgn @ConvertKit Have just started using CK. As I use more, will tweet you the suggestions. Thanks for acknowledging the suggestions. There is a reason why CK tops in the field.

Joseph Jude
Joseph Jude @jjude
In reply to @jjude

@ConvertKit tops in ease of using the product - editor, creating forms, landing pages, automation are all super easy. But when it comes to reporting, there is lot of room for improvement. Hope CK's team improves reporting in the coming days.

In reply to @jjude

Individual subscriber's report is even more detailed in mailchimp than covertkit. CK only provides list of broadcast and when it was sent; to get to know when the subscriber opened it, you have to hover over every broadcast. In mailchimp the whole detail is in a single page

Joseph Jude

May be CK is targeted towards those having thousands of subscribers so those users don't care about those who didn't open. But when you are small, every little feedback counts to improve your newsletter.

Joseph Jude
Joseph Jude @jjude
In reply to @jjude

Mailchimp has "didn't open" as a report, CK doesn't have it. "Didn't Open" helps me to talk to individual subscribers (via whatsapp / phone) to find out the reasons why they didn't open. Landing on spam /promotional folder, landed on a wrong time are all reasons I got to know

Dashboard metrics It is good. At one glance, I can know everything about the campaign. It tells you: • time sent • total subscribers • opens • clicks Awesome. Let's move on to detailed metrics.

@JimCarrey You can borrow ideas from others, but not conviction. If you haven't thought about an idea on your own, you cannot have conviction. You won't go all-in unless you have the conviction. If you don’t go all in, your eventual gains will be minimal.

@JimCarrey 3. Hold it for long The big money is not in the buying or selling, but in the waiting. - Charlie Munger We expect instant results from every effort we take. We post a photo on instagram and expect likes, comments, and dollars. That's not how the world works.

@JimCarrey If everyone believes in it, there is no profit in it. It is a red-ocean. Once Infosys became successful, there are now hundreds of IT services companies in India. Now everyone is fighting for the same talent and customers. And nobody is making profit.

Joseph Jude

In reply to @jjude

@JimCarrey 2. Contrarian For you to benefit from an idea, it should be something that only few believe in it. Though strongly. When no one believed it was possible to build a world-class IT services firm from India, Narayana Murthy and 6 others set out to do it. They profited from it.

@JimCarrey Before investing your effort, money, and time into any idea, check if it is correct. Gather data Seek opposing views Identify situations when the idea may not be correct Then fine-tune the idea.

Joseph Jude

In reply to @jjude

You don't want to spend years chasing an idea only to find out it was all for nothing. As @jimcarrey said: I wish people could realize all their dreams and wealth and fame so that they could see that it’s not where you’re going to find your sense of completion.

1. The idea has to be correct So often we inherit our ideas from our parents, elders, and society and assume they are right. • Earth is flat • Women should stay in the kitchen • Employees need to be monitored for productivity All these ideas were considered "correct"

@PeeKayPedia Happiness is a by-product A Harvard study of self-development studied what makes people happy & found: • great relationships • activities Cultivate these two & you'll be happy
