@Nisha123 @ANayyar16 Happy to @Nisha123 . Will DM you for more details. Thanks @ANayyar16 for the referral
@malpani Not sure it will eat into their profit. It might be counterintuitive. @paulocoelho author of Alchemist & others releases his book into pirating sites (after seeing his books get pirated). It increased the sales (because ppl want to own good books)
@malpani There is no digital lending library. Given that all the tech is available, it should be easy for publishers to create a digital lending library which is operational across the globe Scribd is the only thing that comes close. Orielly library is for professional but not cheap
@pankaj013 Thanks Pankaj. Wondering what are the faultlines China faced and how India can handle it. • were there any sectarian conflicts? • were investigative agencies used to score govt points
What is the effect of becoming a passive postmen? You lose respect ➡️ Overlooked for promotions ➡️ no pay hikes ➡️dismissed at the first opportunity That is why Beware of becoming a corporate postman 7/7
Have you faced such situation? How did you handle? How do you stay relevant in the middle management? Mind sharing? Also retweet the first tweet
3️⃣ Lack of empowerment Top mgmt usually undermines middle mgrs decisions. When there is urgency, top mgmt bypasses middle mgrs and go to the team directly. So middle mgrs lose respect both from team and top mgmt 6/7
2️⃣ They lose track of outcomes It is easy to keep track of weekly reviews, escalations, team meetings... They are not trained to think strategically and keep the outcome in perspective. For most middle mgrs, outcome is also too distant. So they lose interest. 5/7
1️⃣ They lose the skill that made them a manager When they get promoted first, they are still in touch with the technical skill that made them a manager. Overtime, they focus more on controlling people and lose all the technical skills that made them what they were. 4/7
Why it happens? 1️⃣ They lose the skill that made them a manager 2️⃣ They lose track of outcomes 3️⃣ Lack of empowerment 3/7
What do most middle managers do? They collect info from team and relay to the management. And when mgmt has a question, they in turn go back to the team and fetch that information. In the name of "value addition" they convert info into ppts and excel sheets and schedules 2/7
@pankaj013 For a long time it was said there is no Google for India; Amazon for india etc. But China built these on their own. Given the data you show, do you think we will have our own Baidu etc (not the Google India but homegrown)
@pankaj013 Interesting data
@connectgurmeet @Gautam__Baid Ruchir Sharma said something similar @ Indian Express ADDA. There is no doubt abt Indian growth. But will it become a breakout nation? That is still a doubt.
@KarthikS2206 Same experience but I thot it was because I am not a blue subscriber here. I have mentally decided Twitter is for me to learn and LI is for distribution ( ⇒ no paid act on Twitter)
@rishabh_grg Congrats RG. Happy to stand on the side and clap as you march on to one success to another.

@ChandanNotes Thank you. What you say is true too
@_shankarganesh Rent near the office. Buy in an upcoming place.
@pankaj013 @MeetshahV I usually exit when the business changes it’s course or certain parameters are in the downward trend for more than 2 years. Meaning these are applicable to all stocks rather than specific. Usually coz I hold for long (decade at least)
@MeetshahV Would you mind sharing a sample? I get (& maintain) all except exit thesis.
@NirantK Excellent thread. Can you expand on “owned” entertainment? Do you mean OTT?
@SathyaHQ For podcast transcript to blog post, I use this. Act as a content editor. Below is the podcast transcript of a question. Don't summarise or rewrite. Just make this into proper readable English
@SathyaHQ Try audiopen for a while.
@Row_Haastrup This is beautiful. His smile is infectious. His message is even more. Thanks for sharing
@MattooShashank On the same lines, what should India do in that bazzar world? What does it do well? What isn't working in that model? Last: how that FP model influences internal politics Thanks
@MattooShashank You talked abt Dr Jai's bazzar model. It is intriguing. In software dev, there is cathedral (central planning) & bazzar model (open source) too. Would you be able to draw upon this and see if there are any parallels to foreign policy
@MattooShashank Interesting. Already UN & WHO are weakened in handling larger crises like covid. Would such a bazzar world lead to collapse of UN or will UN adapt to a newer world?
Talked to a taxi driver. He had congress shawl in his car. He says Congress can't match BJP's machine. Highly unlikely Congress can defeat BJP in 2024. He says, Rahul can't win back Amethi. Congress might lose Bareilly too. BJ Yatra hasn't achieved much in UP.
Much like PM Modi, CM Yogi is commanding respect. But religious aura adds much weight to Yogi. With these infra projects and matching PR engine, he is too strong for any party to defeat.
My CA tells me there are many more infra coming up - film city, airport, massive warehouses. Even on the residential side, Noida has already extended to multiple phases of greater Noida. Massive growth.
There are multiple malls in Noida. I went to 2. Noida has the 2nd largest mall in India - DLF mall of India. It was so buzzing with activity - cars coming and going, people lining up at the billing counters. If there is talk of unemployment, I didn't notice them in these malls
There's a lot of infrastructure in Noida. You can see wide roads everywhere. It's got multiple criss-cross overhead bridges. There are even eight-lane highways. There are few cities in India which have such massive roads.
With tools like @notionhq and @anytypelab there is a learning curve before you can start. Tool doesn't guide you to start quickly. Tool come in the way of your productivity; You have to learn about the tool before you could capture your notes.
With these text based #pkm tools, there is no friction to start. You can learn and grow as your notes and requirements grow. They are on-demand learning tools. Tool hides at the background. You are productive from the moment you start using the tool.
@AnytypeLabs Here is what I understand after trying to use @AnytypeLabs for few days. Text based PKM tools like @obsdmd & @logseq makes it easy to get started. There is almost no learning curve to start.
@pranesh1109 @championswimmer We lack basic engineering, responsibility, and accountability. Qstn is not if there are roads, qstn is are they reliable in dark night, when it rains etc. Same applies to many development. We take pride in shallow development because asking qstns to authority is anti-national.
@pranesh1109 @championswimmer Just drive to Delhi. There are even 8 lane roads, multiple flyovers, clear signs etc. Having driven outside, it feels like you are in a well developed state. Until a pothole swerves the car; slight rain floods even flyovers … Yes lot of “house of cards”
@nileshtrivedi Agreed. I am sure there are ton of scientific benefits that will come out of this mission. But more than anything the cultural boost to a nation is priceless. Grew up being called snake charmers & elephant riders. ISRO changed the nomenclature now.
@TedHZhang @SahilBloom Is the Morrie’s story real or fictional? I thought it was fictional.
@AbhayVenkatesh1 Looking forward to reading it @AbhayVenkatesh1 . Best wishes.
@fayedsouza @tarauk @CodingCommando Good to hear. Thanks @CodingCommando for this recommendation. Hope @fayedsouza is funded well. We need unbiased media at this time in India
@_zenman I blog for two purposes: - blogging as thinking - blogging as solving problems 2nd is marketing
