@jonathanstark Another model would be network of experts as in Hollywood model. I wrote about this here:
@EllenRhymes @nealkhosla @Shripriya @m_ashcroft @JenVermet Thanks @EllenRhymes for the question. I wrote of all the authors who influenced me when I was a kid:
@tarauk If anything, we don't want to go "back". We want to follow the arrow of progress forward. This is the problem with current right wing, they want to take us back. That is always to bunch of repressive ideas. Take us forward @annamalai_k, not back.
@vijayanands Isn't this also the chasm between the foxes and hedgehogs?
@vijayanands The more I learn a subject I understand the nuances in that subject. But when I start learning, I get overwhelemed with all the intricacies. Same goes for teaching. If I don't distill the subjects, others won't get it. So how do you balance it - say when you talk abt startups?
@madversity @pbmehta @ShashiTharoor This is the problem with the elite liberals. They talk to high heavens not to common masses. Modi's words & concepts can be understood by common folks. A simple and pleasing lie is more cognitively attractive than a complicated truth. Want to change India? Speak in simple words.
@karthi2209 Sorry. I wasn't clear. I am subscribed to designu. I wanted to find if you tweet every post you post on designu, so that I can retweet what you tweeted.
@PravinSawhney If Prof @TobyWalsh research is anything to rely on China is already winning because of massive investments in research. One city in China is investing more in AI than the entire country of India.
@vijayanands Have you read the book "Small Data"? In that author goes in detail of how brands miss real insights because they are looking only into data and forget anecdotes.
@KannusamiRaksha @ThePracticalDev A little different take on a similar topic: Should you specialize in a single technology or learn as many business functions as I could learn? Let us find what Jack Ma & Derek Sivers have to say:
@KannusamiRaksha @ThePracticalDev This is a good article @KannusamiRaksha. Thanks for sharing.
@karthi2209 @threadreaderapp unroll
@george__mack @harrydry @Julian 1 makes it easier for readers to subscribe; 2 is good for writers to develop their skill and find their voice; I did 2 to improve my skill and switched to 1 recently at Also, if u pick a broader theme (systems / career dev) you achieve both
@thisiskp_ Should I be content, which leads to lethargy, or should I be ambitious, which seems to lead to pride and disappointment? Is this a paradox to explore or a dissonance to solve? 2) Employees between 10-25 yrs experience Subscribe: https://www.jjude/subscribe

I go into details of each of these here: Don't forget to subscribe:
3. Annual reports and Investor Presentations of companies: Surveys and analyst's reports are second-hand information. You get first-hand information from annual reports published by public companies.
2. Industry Trend Reports: If you are in a business related to Internet (who is not?), you should read Mary Meeker's annual reports.
1. Surveys: Software developers have Stackoverflow surveys. Every industry has its surveys. You can identify trends by studing surveys
@CalmAchiever Well said @CalmAchiever. Motion creates emotion.
I explore this journey more here: . Don't forget to subscribe:
Being - what you are; who you are; Doing - what you do for yourself, family, and others. Having - what you accumulate in this life - not just tangible things like money, car, and house but also intangible things like fame, network.
Finally I stumbled on this answer. There are three aspects to life in this context: being, doing, and having. Be ambitious in being and doing but content in having.
I read as many books on this topic and listened to philosophers and yogis. I oscillated between experimenting with contentment and ambition. I didn't get a clear answer.
In college I started reading the Bible and got to know about St. Paul. He says, godliness with contentment is good. But wanted to take Christianity to all known parts of the world of his time. Should I follow what he said or how he walked?
Then I got into an engineering college. My “ambition” became “a lecturer in an engineering college,” because I thought big!
The answer to life's most troubling philosophical choices is not “or” but a curious combination of both. My family is full of school teachers. I wanted to “be ambitious,” so I aspired to become a lecturer in a college. That was the extent of my ambition as a young boy.
@Dinesh_Sairam Thanks for sharing this @Dinesh_Sairam. The best morph of words I know is Hamilton bridge becoming “ambattan” (barber) bridge.
@rroudt I have been writing about self directed learning for quite sometime: Of late, I write specific application of SDL to acquire Gravitas using wealth, insights, network, and self-control. Newsletter subscription here:
@nathanbarry I'm reading about justice from an article referred by @BrentBeshore. There is a phrase in the article: > The righteous are willing to disadvantage themselves to advantage the community While reading your post that was the quote I remembered. Well done Nathan. Thanks for sharing
@karthi2209 Your "Finance July" was a fantastic series. A mini series so to speak. Saved many of the articles. Looking forward to the next series. Good luck with it. Just one suggestion: If you add twitter link at the end of the letter, it would be easy to share with credit
@lpolovets Jim Collins says increase your "who luck". I think about that often.
@drose_999 Thanks Dan for this fantastic thread. I have heard most of the stuff earlier. Didn't know abt helicopter crash. Any info on it? You're right. World would be a different place without Jeff.
The sketch is a meta ;-) Where @rishabh_grg make the complex simple.

3. Social Proof : If you desire to carve a chance of partnering with an expert, you need to build proofs in public—of your capability, dependability, and integrity. Join @tieglobal or @YiTweets or similar org and volunteer. No other better way to come into contact with experts
2. Networking : Build a diverse network. Why? Your probability of success is proportional to the number of people that want you to succeed. Work to keep increasing that number by @dharmesh
1. Build a body of work: Imagine with me. You go to the Taj Mahal & 2 photographers approach you. One says, “I can take photos. Each photo is 50 rupees. Hire me.” The other comes with an album & says, “I have taken these photos. Hire me as a photographer.” Who would you hire?
If these trends are emerging in the job market, what can you do to ride on these trends? I recommend three steps.
3. Partnership of experts : Danny Boyle and AR Rahman collaborated for the movie “Slumdog Millionaire.” They come together for other films. Interestingly they don't work for each other, nor the same company. They are experts coming together for projects and divide the spoils.
2. Work from anywhere : COVID pandemic accelerated the second trend. Earlier, if you wanted to work in a company in Bangalore or Boston, you have to move there. You have to be geographically closer to the company you wanted to work in. Not any more.
1. Credentials don't matter : Laszlo Bock, ex-SVP of Google said this: Your college degree is not a proxy anymore for having the skills or traits to do any job.
@CalmAchiever Such a fantastic advice can come only from a Calm Achiever Md. Thank you for sharing. @CalmAchiever
@Afroturrk @AnalectsTweet This is one thing I struggle now. Should I be short and packed or entertaining? I keep going back and forth on this.
@GarshytHoel @jackerhack oh it is worse. I will tell you the features tomorrow, can you commit to a launch date today? Every.Single.Parent/PM.
@akkshaya_ I share your "tired" opinion. Too many note taking apps, not one app ticks all the checkboxes. As of now, I gravitate towards mostly text based apps (like Joplin) so that I have the notes with me irrespective of the app I use.
@Schandillia They all used to tell that to Rahul G ;-)
@EllenRhymes @nealkhosla @Shripriya @m_ashcroft @JenVermet Couplet 396: Water will flow from a well in proportion to the depth to which it is dug, and knowledge will flow from a man in proportion to his learning
