@heysachit @SejalSud We talk of personalisation in everything except where it is most needed. We need personalised education according to the tastes and skills of kids. Only homeschooling can provide it. Not institutionalised education.

@reach2mahen Q) Is it a good choice for me? I don't know. Everyone's context is different. It is a good choice for me and I'm sharing what I'm doing here in public. I'm happy to discuss in person (if you want to discuss personally DM me). But I can't tell you what is good for your kid.

@reach2mahen Q) How will they socialise with other kids? This is the most asked question. I suppose you are living in an apartment or in a colony where there are kids (and not in a cave 😀). Kids are by nature social. You've to keep saying 🤫 or 🤐 Let them free and they'll find friends

@reach2mahen Q) Does the government allow it? I don't know. I suppose RTE is about right to education and not compelling parents to send kids to a particular form of schooling. Educate me if there are any provisions in Indian law that prohibits homeschooling.

Q) What subjects should we teach kids in homeschooling? • personal finance • planning the day and doing things • creating things (videos, painting, art...) • literature

Q) How should I start? Every one of us know some subjects. Start with teaching what you know. Talk to kids as you eat, as you shop. Teach them how to handle money. Start small and branch out. Hope this gives some starting:

Q) It sounds like it is for the rich and privileged. Rich are busy going after money. They want to outsource their kid's learning as much as possible. It is for those who are interested in raising skilled, conscious kids. Doesn't matter if you are rich, middle-class or poor

Q) Both of us are working. Can we homeschool? If you have parents or others at home, then yes. Otherwise may not be possible. Or if both of you have flexible or work from home model, then may be you can.

Q) I am not an engineer. I am a CA / teacher / banker ... Can I homeschool my kids? Yes. Every parent can homeschool their kids. In India, we have given too much focus on engineering. And we've destoryed our kid's potential and dreams (and thus India's too).

Q) What qualifications are needed for homeschooling? None of us asked this quesiton when we became a parent! You don't need any special qualifications. Start with whatever you have. If you are CA, start with teaching accounts. If you are speaker, start with that

Q) Should I teach all the subjects at home? Homeschooling is not teaching school subjects at home. It is teaching kids life-skills & other subjects at home. You don't have to follow school curriculum at all. You create a curriculum as per your kids skills, likes, & dislikes

@SathyaHQ Setting up a payroll etc depends on if you have employees etc. Keep it simple. Of course, a lot depends on your context

@SathyaHQ I have been a "freelancer" since 2009. This is what I do - I work as a proprietorship (In India regulatory compliance is cumbersome) - Set up a separate current act (not needed for compliance) - Open PPF and pay full every year - Pay yourself a monthly salary

@SathyaHQ So will we see a NFT offering from you soon? 🤔 I tried this. Didn’t work for me. iPad is what is working for me now.

@orangeturban @BrentBeshore 4. It keeps things moving in a day Since reading and writing is the first activity and I usually complete them, it gives me momentum for the day. I feel I have accomplished something and then look forward to get more done in a day.

@orangeturban @BrentBeshore 3. I get to read a mixture of genres The Bible contains history, poems, wisdom literature, and so on. A daily reading exposes me to different genres and I can put my day in a historical and artistic perspectives.

@orangeturban @BrentBeshore 2. I usually have Proverbs (a book in the Bible) as part of daily reading. It contains so much of wisdom that I can relate that daily reading to what I am going through (not necessarily that day). => it helps me formulate an answer to what I'm going through and thinking

In reply to @tim_abell

@tim_abell It depends on the task at hand. If it is going to be in production, I prefer defensive coding. At the least catching all exceptions and logging. If it is PoCs or anything of that sort, I may prefer to have only happy path code

In reply to @ExportsMadeEasy

@ExportsMadeEasy @warikoo Thank you Shashank. Isn't his reasoning logical - inflation is high. If one keeps money in the bank / FD, they will only lose it because of inflation? I also see your point, if not managed well, people can lose money in market. But if it is in bond, is it safer?
