In early years of career, what matters more is how hard you work and how well you execute. In later part of career, what matters more is how well you think and manage.
But you can't think well unless you have done the hard and grunt work earlier.
"Gandhi demonstrated that we can force change and justice through moral acts of aggression instead of physical acts of aggression. Never has our species needed this wisdom more.” It won’t be far-fetched to think that Jobs’s life and death were both intertwined with Gandhi" 13/14

Of course, his confidence in his own rhetorical abilities ended up being his undoing. Too often, his love of hyperbole crossed the line and wound up turning into plain old lying - something which is clearly unacceptable in government.
A lot of people seem to believe the Govt wasn't at fault since it was a record rain. Not true.Below pic is from South B'luru, the nearest monitoring station received 114.5mm rain. Compare it to flooded areas like Koramangala (83mm) & Doddanekundi(133mm). Planning & lakes matter https://t.co/GSuGosGKlf

Unity is achieved by consent, compromise and communication. It is not presumed, demanded or imposed but earned, crafted and nurtured. Often, unity is used as a shield by some who want domination. That is hegemony, distinct from integration
@paraschopra @jjude is gem at this
Taking bold actions is constrained by our imagination.
Our ability to imagine possibilities is constrained by our worldview.
Our worldview is constrained by the stories we tell ourselves.
The stories we tell ourselves are constrained by the experiences we have.
So what?
A bigger testament to who Bose revered is from the naming of the INA brigades: Gandhi, Nehru, Azad and himself. A man who had every reason to be furious with Gandhi for sabotaging his democratically won Congress presidency … https://t.co/oK8Z0ohcZF

Two traits most highly correlated with success:
1. Grit
2. Self-control: "the capacity to regulate attention, emotion, and behavior in the presence of temptation."
Grit is glorified - but locking up self-control is rarely discussed, the hardest work, & has the biggest payoff.

A lot of Indians travel to Dubai for holidays and it is quite expensive if you convert, but there are so many ways to get some good deals/savings out of it if you are a tourist. I'm gonna share some of my experiences on how to make the most of your buck in this city.

Trusting in God doesn't mean we don't act. It means we don't despair.
All laws impose certain values on society.
Consequently, the question is never *whether* we should impose certain values on society but *which* values we should impose on society.

The 5 Rs of Open Educational Resources(OER)
Retain (keep a copy)
Reuse (use as is)
Revise (adapt, adjust, modify)
Remix (mashup content to create something new)
Redistribute (share copies with others)
Free sharing of educational resources is what Indian students need
The biggest bummer about the decline of Amazon, the rise of surveillance capitalism, the polarization or social media, predatory app stores, is that for a while it felt like nerds were making the world a better place. Now the most successful tech companies are making it worse
This is a deeply informative slide for me. It packs impactful knowledge in pictorial form, thereby making it lucid & comprehensible.

A paradox is a seemingly self-contradictory statement that proves true.
The most powerful paradoxes I’ve found:
2/ Reduce the friction
• If you’re doing YouTube, keep your camera out.
• If you're practicing chess, leave your chess set on the table.
• If you’re growing a business, email ONE customer.
Reduce the friction that stops you from doing.
Make it easy for yourself to succeed.
“Have you seen Jawaharlal?” The question everyone asked John Gunther in 1938 can be, in a twisted way, posed about the official celebration of 75 years of our independence. But how can there be an independent India without Nehru? My @thecaravanindia column https://t.co/XzeFwL9khH
In an article published in the Kirti magazine in July 1928, Bhagat Singh stated firmly that India would achieve freedom and understand the status of freedom in the context of the world through Nehru’s school of thought.

Talent + social skills = CXO in the making.
Talent + no social skills = Valuable employee; if under a nice manager even better.
Only social skills = A 🎈 that only goes up until a few meters before bursting (not literally)
