A masterclass on film making and perfect timing:
James Burke had only once chance to film this scene, and the result is possibly the best timed shot in television history. https://t.co/tnQi7ta6eX
It's a slow, snowy afternoon. How about a 🧵 on "rationalists" & "rationalism"? I want to talk about what real rationalism might look like & what people devoted to rationalism might actually behave like--and how that differs from what you often see from self-styled rationalists.
People will be willing to pay good money for something that:
- ⌛️ saves them time
- 🏦 saves them money
- 💸 makes them money
Find a problem where a solution does one or more of these things, and you're well on the way to a sustainable business.
If it does all three, jackpot.
Lastly, when defining the product or its features, use Amazon's 5Qs framework:
1) Who is the customer?
2) What is the problem/opportunity?
3) What is the main customer benefit?
4) How do you know customers want this?
5) What is the customer experience?

But then an unexpected thing happened -- he disavowed his atheism and returned to faith.

An Iraqi author once said: "If you ask Muslims to vote for what system they want, they'll vote for an Islamic system and then go live in a Western country". Funny huh. Well stop laughing. Our people want *both* to express their identity *and* to live in prosperity and dignity.
Having once been an Islamist myself (when I was much younger) I can tell you with the wisdom of hindsight that a lot of it is really about identity and very little of it is about spirituality. We feel humiliated by the West, and alienated from our own pre-colonial identities
